RUN FOR HEALTH AND SUSTAINABILITY

The excitement and training is building for Seattle’s third Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon being held on Saturday, June 25, 2011. Over 25,000 marathon and half-marathon runners/walkers will start in Tukwila and finish in downtown Seattle at Qwest Field.

TEAM SUSTAINABILITY will be participating in the Rock ‘n’ Roll for the second time this year and to add to the challenge of training for and finishing the run/walk, Team members are being asked to help Sustainable Path Foundation reach its goal of raising $5,000 so we can secure a $5,000 challenge gift made a by a generous athlete and runner.

Run/walk for TEAM SUSTAINABILITY and help us reach this $5,000 challenge gift by participating as a team member and making a donation to Sustainable Path Foundation’s group philanthropy. Even if you’re not a runner, you can show your commitment to the health and sustainability of our region by sponsoring a runner or by making a contribution towards our efforts.

Your donation will go towards Sustainable Path Foundation’s grantmaking and educational seminars that are based in science and address intersections between health, environment, economics and community.  Join Sustainable Path Foundation’s unique combination of collaborative philanthropy, scientific expertise and diverse partnerships and play a part in making significant change in our region.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll marathon course covers some of the most scenic areas of Seattle, including Lake Washington, Seward Park, Lake Union, Puget Sound near Elliott Bay and the Space Needle. If the weather is clear, expect some stunning views of Mt. Rainier, Mt. Baker and the Olympic Mountains.

“There is a benefit to me as a donor to be part of a group philanthropy—I couldn't make as much of a difference on my own.” June Eisenman, Group Philanthropy Partner “It's a really good group of smart, passionate and fun people working toward such an important mission. I learn a lot and there's a unique spirit and energy that makes being involved especially rewarding.” Michelle Chow, Group Philanthropy Partner
